China has been building up its military especially expanded fleet of submarines as China first indigenous aircraft carriers, seeking to build a navy capable of projecting power abroad. China plays the bigger global military role, under Xi Jinping as a commander of the Country’s new joint forces as well as the president and secretary general of the communist party conducting like an Emperor to ignore the freedom of navigation agreement and break the ethics of security, such as one of the nine dash line claimed by China encroached the Indonesia Economic Zone, and according to the United Nation Convention on the Law Of Sea (UNCLOS) these waters fall within Indonesia’s EEZ, but the Chinese foreign ministry argued the waters is in Chinese traditional fishing grounds.
It was not until after Philippines failed to try all the political and diplomatic negotiations. Philippines seeking for the arbitration to solve the dispute between them over the South China Sea, psychologically China’s assertiveness on the South China Sea causinga ruckus in this region.
In political economy, China started a cold war on business. Under Xi Jinping, China is using strong arm tactics to make life hard for International Companies such as six infant milk powder companies including Illinois-based Mead Johnson Nutrition and Abbott Laboratories, were accused of price fixing and fined $110 million. For two decades, globalization has been the world economy’s central story line or so, it was not until China sharply changed the narrative, proving the politbureau control over the business sector. Under Xi Jinping regime, for the first time the central committee meeting in party’s historyto focus on building“rule of law” that the state respects and preserves human rights.
Although in official statements, the Chinese are not interested in domination, but according to the Chinese ambassador to Indonesia Xi Fengconcerning the arbitration, no matter what it turn out to be the ruling no way changes the history and fact that China has sovereignty over the South China Sea. For Indonesia as the biggest maritime country in the world, Indonesia and Malaysia had given example to solve the caseof Sipadan and Ligitan peacefully through the arbitration.
On Thursday June 23, 2016 President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo made his first visit to Natuna and held a cabinet meeting on board of Warship KRI Imam Bonjol 383 in the Natuna watersto display of Jakarta’s sovereignty over the territory. And last but not least, the person who was appointed by president Jokowi as the National Police Chief Comr.Gen. Tito KarnavianhasPh.D on Strategic studies, certainly familiar with the art of employing the political, economic, psychological and military forces of a nation or group of nationsto afford the maximum support to adopted policies in peace or war, to assist president to defend NKRI.
